VOXPAX is part of a global network of some 25 or more Peace Organizations which work to eliminate the causes of war and facilitate the ways to peace - see "VoxPax Links" below. Principal among the VoxPax Network are the United Nations, the American Friends Service Committee, The Quaker UN Organization (QUNO) and a global network of PeaceABLE People and Associated Peace Workers who seek an end to war and the institution of peace on earth. Its mission is to bring worldwide attention to the "Voices for Peace" and "that the VOICE of PEACE be heard". VOXPAX is an "org/net" agency (.net and .org) with multiple purposes and goals - see "Our Mission" Statement below. VoxPax advocates a kinder and gentler world, whereby people find unity and community in Peace, and erstwhile adveraries come together as Friends. VoxPax seeks to build a more humane society by peaceful means and the transcendent power of human love. VOXPAX exists to preserve human life and eliminate the occasion for war, to give aid and reloef to the victims of terror and war, to alleviate the scourge conditions of poverty, hunger, disease and war that make a peaceful existence so unobtainable, to advance the use of nonviolent conflict resolution in the conduct of human affairs, and to induce warring nations and terrorists to put down their weapons and join our better world in peace. Networking for the cause of peace is an essential component of our activism. |
